Senior Manager - Project Implementation, Alliances - Asia
Aircraft Commerce Recruitment have been instructed by our client, a leading airline, to find a Senior Manager – Project Implementation, Alliances. Reporting into the GM Alliances you would be responsible for a broad based portfolio of Project Implementation and oversight in the Global Airline Alliances arena. The successful candidate will work with cross functional and multi-cultural teams to ensure the delivery of projects for Global Alliance implementation at our client’s airline in conjunction with the responsible individuals in the Alliance Group. Projects will vary in size, complexity and type and should meet the business needs of the airline through effective management of time, budget and resources.
In tandem with the GM Alliances you will be required to establish and develop key Alliance Contacts at all major airlines on a national and international level and maximise the art of creating value through partnering as key-critical to the growth, on-going success and sustained profitability of Alliances. You will be required to embark on a preliminary Risk vs Intensity assessment with all alliance relationship and assess and engage the achievement of synergies with airlines globally through the project management and direct oversight of a Global Alliance participation. You will need to be able to create complex strategic assessments through an identified evolving process and track ‘moving targets’ and strike multiple bargains while creating and maintaining options so as to contribute to competitiveness in the Alliance environment. You will be the single point of contact with responsibility for the project management and maintenance of the overall relationship with all airlines and alliances and identifying relevant stastical information using internal and external sources and resources so as to formulate and generate monthly MIS reports. You will be required to liaise and coordinate with all internal customers and stake holders so as to best represent our client’s interests and achieve set objectives with Partner Carriers in a Global Alliance.
You will lead multi cultural project teams to successfully achieve project critical success factors and ensure project delivery by building consensus among globally diverse project members. You would be required to communicate project plans and status to all stakeholders and produce high quality project deliverables by applying effective project management methodology throughout all project phases. You will liaise closely with key Stake Holders, Leaders and Managers in the development of project objectives, plans, and deliverables and develop a project plan including baselines for schedule and budget according to the scope and risk associated with the project. Analysing project results and taking corrective actions to maintain schedule and cost baselines and coordinating the efforts of cross-functional project teams including assigned resources from functional areas as needed to meet project objectives are both key aspects of the role. You will be required to organize and establish project teams by selecting, orienting and training staff members and assigning responsibilities and provide direct project management direction when and where applicable. You will also manage the project budget by approving expenditure, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions and managing change and report project status to an executive steering committee and provide monthly status reports to all key stakeholders whilst constantly maintaining professional and technical knowledge.
To be considered for this role you must be a University Graduate with a minimum of 5 years airline experience and preferably from an Alliance / Project Management background. You will have a proven record for sales and / or relationship building skill set, maintenance and development and have excellent communication and presentational skills. You will have strong collaboration and thought leadership experience with exceptional negotiation skills and ability to influence. Our client has also specified a minimum of three years varied airline system development experience and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and handle shifting priorities. You will also be an excellent analytical thinker and have thorough knowledge of MS office and be able to travel internationally on a regular basis.
